Termite Inspections Perth

Do you require a termite inspection for your home?  Having a termite inspection in Perth, requires expert advice.

It can be a challenge trying to find a company to inspect your home, especially considering that no two inspectors are the same.  One company may promote 20+ years in business but then they send out a first-year apprentice, who may have never seen a termite before, to inspect your new home (believe it or not – this happens all the time).  Whereas another company may send out a highly qualified termite specialist, with a long list of qualifications to determine if your home has any termite issues.  So how do you choose the best company to inspect your home?

Swat-A-Pest are fully qualified and fully insured to inspect your home to the highest standard.  Every employee has undergone the most stringent of technical learning solutions. Our team carry out 7 times the minimum industry requirements for inspections, before they are allowed to inspect a home on their own.  Your home is important to us.

Building and Termite Inspection

It is standard practice to obtain a pre-purchase building and termite inspection prior to purchasing a home. Swat-A-Pest partner with ABBC Building Inspectors to complete all building and termite inspection requirements. Andrew Booth and the team from ABBC are highly renowned and experienced building inspectors in Perth, and they will help uncover any hidden problems with your purchase before you buy it.

Termite Inspection Warranty

Some companies in Perth provide a warranty when they inspect a house.  The challenge with this, is that no inspection actually stops termites eating your home.  It’s not as if termites arrive at the house and they tell each other, they can’t eat this one because it was inspected only a few months ago.

This means there are a lot of misleading warranty programs out there in the market place.  Many homeowners think they are protected under a warranty, but in the small print, should things go wrong, they may not be covered for what they think they are.

Termite inspections do NOT stop termites from attacking your home, they only locate termites that have already surfaced, hopefully before too much damage is caused.  To stop termites from attacking your home, you really need to have a full termite treatment zone installed at your home.

Termite Inspection and Treatment

Imagine having your home inspected by a court expert, a co-author of a termite course and someone who has inspected nearly 10,000 properties across Perth! Don’t just trust the integrity of your home to just any technician, trust Swat-A-Pest.

All professionals at Swat-A-Pest are fully qualified and fully insured to inspect your home to the highest standard.

Swat-A-Pest use the most up to date termite inspection methods combined with the Termatrac T3i, this 3 in 1 inspection tool. This unique tool uses moisture detection, thermal and microwave technology. This allows Swat-A-Pest to conduct termite inspections without the use of invasive methods.

  • Termatrac T3i is the world’s best digital moisture detection device.  Penetrating 3 times deeper than any other moisture detection device.
  • Termites and their environment consist of 96% humidity, so where termites are travelling, tracking, eating, they create a very moist environment.
  • Termites could be travelling up the inside of a cavity wall.  Any other inspector will not pick up the activity with their tool.
  • Termites will generate heat (in cooler environments) and reduce heat (in warmer environments) to create their ideal temperature environment.
  • The thermal scan will pick up changes in the surface temperature.

Also, because termites require moisture (actually need it more than timber), having wet or moist areas in and around the home can attract them and this device allows us to inform of hazards to resolve, minimising their risk of future attack.

  • Termites will generate heat (in cooler environments) and reduce heat (in warmer environments) to create their ideal temperature environment.
  • The thermal scan will pick up changes in the surface temperature.

The microwave setting which will send a soundwave signal through walls and if there is any movement on the other side of this wall. We’ve actually found termites in four homes now that would have otherwise gone completely undetected and would have been impossible to have been noticed without this device.
